AI Architect Certification
Advanced technical capability for solution architects and technology leads who design, build, and govern enterprise-grade AI systems at scale.
Overview
The AI Architect Certification develops advanced capability in enterprise AI system design, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI architecture. It covers the full stack, from translating enterprise strategy into AI capability through to scalable data engineering, governance frameworks, and emerging architectures, concluding with a capstone AI solution blueprint assessed by AAAI.
Who it's for
Built for architects and technology leads designing AI at scale
- Solution architects responsible for designing enterprise AI systems and pipelines
- Technology leads overseeing AI platform selection, integration, and deployment

What's covered
Course content
Six modules covering enterprise AI architecture from strategy to production, plus a capstone AI solution blueprint.
Architecting for AI Transformation
The evolving role of the AI Architect, translating enterprise strategy into AI capability, data, model and governance layers, and scaling from proof of concept to production ecosystems.
Designing AI Systems and Pipelines
AI system blueprints and reference architectures, model lifecycle management and MLOps foundations, versioning, testing, CI/CD, cloud and edge deployment patterns across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
AI Governance and Risk Frameworks
Building governance structures for AI projects, ISO/IEC 42001 and the Australian AI Safety Standard (VAISS), policy and accountability models, managing risk, bias, and human oversight.
Responsible and Sustainable AI Architecture
Responsible AI by design in the architecture lifecycle, environmental and energy efficiency in AI systems, bias mitigation and fairness controls at scale, lifecycle traceability and model documentation.
Data Engineering and Scalable AI Platforms
Enterprise-grade data pipelines and ETL workflows, streaming and batch data integration, security and access control in data flows, CI/CD for AI environments, and hybrid and federated AI deployments.
Advanced AI Use Cases and Emerging Architectures
Designing generative AI and multimodal systems, AI for predictive maintenance and IoT, cognitive agents and autonomous decision systems, federated and privacy-preserving AI patterns.
AI Solution Blueprint
Frame a real business problem as an AI architecture challenge and produce an end-to-end solution blueprint covering data, model, governance, and sustainability dimensions. The blueprint is documented, presented to a review panel, refined through peer feedback, and submitted for certification assessment by AAAI.
Course content is subject to change pending final industry alignment prior to public release.
How it works
Assessment and credential
Capstone project and proctored exam
Assessment combines the AI Solution Blueprint capstone project with a fully proctored exam. The capstone is reviewed and assessed by AAAI. The exam is AI-proctored, delivered online with full automated invigilation throughout. Both components must be completed for certification. See the AAAI Examination Policy for full details.
AI Architect digital badge
Successful completion earns the AI Architect digital badge at the advanced technical tier of the AAAI pathway. The credential is shareable on LinkedIn and professional profiles and confirms structured, assessed capability in enterprise AI system design and governance.

Frequently asked questions
What is the AI Architect Certification?
An advanced technical credential from AAAI that develops the capability to design enterprise-grade AI systems, manage model lifecycles, apply AI governance frameworks including ISO/IEC 42001 and the Australian AI Safety Standard, and build responsible, scalable AI architectures.
Who is it designed for?
Experienced AI practitioners, solution architects, and technology leads who are responsible for designing, building, or overseeing AI systems at enterprise scale. It assumes existing technical familiarity with AI and focuses on advanced system design, governance, and responsible architecture practice.
What does the capstone project involve?
Participants frame a real business problem as an AI architecture challenge and produce an end-to-end AI solution blueprint covering data, model, governance, and sustainability dimensions. The blueprint is presented to a review panel, refined through peer feedback, and submitted for assessment by AAAI.
Is the curriculum finalised?
The curriculum is in draft and subject to change pending final industry alignment and review prior to public release. The topic areas and module structure shown reflect the current working draft.
